The way we eat nowadays is anything but mindful. Our focus is rarely on the food we’re consuming and mostly on some form of stimulation. It’s crazy how we pay more attention to our phones then we do our food. The truth is, we take food and the concept of eating for granted. It’s usually secondary to our instagram feed, our job and Netflix. We’ve lost our connection to the energy that fuels us. That relationship is far more important than you realize.
Food is more than satiation and calories… it’s electricity. The more mindful we are about the food were eating and throughout the eating process, the better results we’ll receive from the food. Energy returned on energy invested.
Quantum physics suggests that our awareness can change the behavior of reality. It’s called the “observer effect”. The more energy we give to something, the more we can dictate the outcome. This is how we manifest. It’s our superpower. That’s how ideas formulate into creation. Eating is the most impactful action we perform every day. As we continue being consumed by external factors, the energy we share with our food becomes less and less. Food is more than satiation and calories… it’s electricity. The more mindful we are about the food we’re eating and throughout the eating process, the better results we’ll receive from the food. Energy returned on energy invested.
Being mindful during the eating process is imperative for quality digestion. The digestion process begins with the thought of eating. That’s why eating too fast or eating in front of the television can contribute to heartburn and indigestion. In addition, when you’re not focused on your food, it’s hard to tap into your body’s intelligence. This results in overeating due to the mind not being in symbiosis with the body. Digestion is biggest energy burden on the body. When your digestion is off, your whole body suffers. That’s why it’s crucial to eat energy-efficient foods like fruits and treat the eating process like a semi-sacred event. Your body is your temple. It’s time to start treating it as such…
Key tip: Start with one meal. Be mindful of the food you're eating. Is the food choice for the betterment of you or the detriment of you? Whatever meal you choose, give 100% of your attention to the food and take note of the experience. Does the food taste any different? How do you feel afterwards? Did you notice yourself getting full? Take that experience and work towards mindful eating as much as possible.
